Help your wallet out on a ridehailing-heavy budget

Even with the handiness of rideshare apps, your bills from calling all those cars can quickly pile up. Wouldn’t it be nice to get a least some of the money back from all the Lyft and Uber rides you take? Well, there’s an app for that… actually, there are quite a few.

1. Ibotta

Link your Uber account to the ibotta app to save $1 on every Uber ride. It may not sound like a lot at first, but if you’re using Uber multiple times a week, those dollars will quickly add up!

2. Drop

Drop allows you to get money for spending money. All you have to do is link up at least of your cards and continue shopping at your favorite stores to stock up on points that can be redeemed for gift cards at places like Amazon and Target.

3. Digit

Digit works a little differently, as far as money-saving apps go. Most things you pay for, including Uber and Lyft rides, don’t round up to a whole dollar. This app lets you round up to the nearest dollar and puts the leftover change directly into your savings. For example, say you grab a Lyft for $9.45. The other $0.55 goes straight into your savings, rounding the total for your ride up to $10.00.

4. InboxDollars

Do you get bored or anxious trying to fill the awkward silences that can come with some rideshare situations? InboxDollars helps you use that time to earn money for giving your consumer feedback. It offers many ways that you can quickly get cash like taking surveys or watching videos.

There are many other apps designed to make your life just a little simpler. It’s nearly impossible to ignore the convenience of ridesharing services in major urban areas these days. With frequent app usage and surcharged rides, it’s helpful to find ways to save a little bit of money and maybe even earn some on the side.
