Actionfigure Launches GTFS Ops Practice, Welcomes Diego Canales as Global Data Lead

Diego Canales

Transit agencies today are expected to deliver real-time digital passenger information as part of their core operations. That information runs on GTFS (General Transit Feed Specification), the open standard powering everything from agency apps and Google Maps to digital display screens and voice annunciators.

Until now, agencies in North America and worldwide have lacked a partner with end-to-end experience across the full passenger information pipeline: from creating GTFS feeds to deploying them in best-in-class apps and real-time displays.

That changes today.

Introducing GTFS Ops

Actionfigure’s new GTFS Ops practice brings full GTFS creation and maintenance capabilities to transit agencies of every size. Our services include:

  • Schedules: GTFS creation and ongoing maintenance
  • Pathways: GTFS Pathways data creation and maintenance, including station mapping and wayfinding
  • Fares: structured GTFS Fares data and updates
  • Data Management and Pipeline: end-to-end GTFS infrastructure
  • Transit Data Consulting: strategic guidance on data quality and standards

In partnership with Swiftly, we help deliver world-class GTFS-Realtime feeds.

For agencies that want to build GTFS using internal resources, we offer self-service GTFS tools as well.

Welcoming Diego Canales

Diego Canales joins Actionfigure full-time as Global Data Lead. He brings nearly two decades of experience at the intersection of transport technology, data innovation, and global partnerships. Why Actionfigure

GTFS Ops builds on a foundation few organizations can match. Actionfigure’s data platform consumes, parses, validates, and displays GTFS feeds at scale. We are a core founding member of MobilityData and the original host of the MobilityDatabase (formerly TransitFeeds). Our own products, including TransitScreen real-time displays, mobile apps, and APIs, run on the GTFS data we produce every day.

We’re not just a vendor. We’re a power user of the data we build, and our own products raise the quality bar for every GTFS Ops customer.
