TransitScreen HQ moves to 750 17th Street NW

For any young company, growing out of office space is a good problem to have. Hiring new employees means you need to have enough space to comfortably fit everyone. With our growth over the past six to eight months, our office was getting a little cramped!

Growing to more than 30 employees meant it was time to find a new home for TransitScreen HQ, and we’ve found it at 750 17th Street NW. Our Farragut North-area Desales St office was a wonderful space for us to grow over the last two and a half years, and we can’t thank the JBG Smith team enough.

What we were looking for

When we started looking for a new office, more space was the number one requirement — and not just for our current employee count. We wanted to make sure there’s enough room for our future growth plans in the years to come.

Another major point of emphasis for our new space was the access to transit and mobility, obviously! Since none of our employees drive to work on a regular basis, being in close proximity to Metro and bus lines was crucial. Our new location has a MobilityScore of a perfect 100 – so it’s safe to say we met our goal.

There are three metro stops servicing four separate lines – all within a ten minute walk of our new location. We’ve also got four Capital Bikeshare docks within two blocks. For employees who have their own bike, the building offers secure bike parking in the garage.

We couldn’t do it alone

Finding a new office is a full-time job, so we were lucky to have the help of Scott Hoffman and Tyler Bensten from Savills USA on the case to find our perfect office. They recognized how important access to reliable transit was for our employees and company as a whole, while keeping in mind our collaborative nature.

Not only did they understand our current needs, they shared our vision of growth and knew a central location within the city is essential with attracting and retaining top talent. We’re proud to be #MadeInDC, and we plan to stay that way.

Our new home

We’ve come a long way since our days at 1776! We can’t wait to make this new space our home and a place to continue our growth in the years to come.
